Trong bối cảnh hiện nay của nhà trường, với rất nhiều những khó khăn và thách thức, trong quá trình giảng dạy ngoài việc cung cấp cho học sinh những kiến thức, kỹ năng thì việc rèn luyện, tu dưỡng đạo đức, lối sống và hình thành nên những phẩm chất tốt đẹp là vấn đề được quan tâm hàng đầu. “ Lồng ghép giáo dục kỹ năng sống” (KNS) là một hoạt động trong quá trình thực hiện giảng dạy nhằm đạt mục tiêu của môn học, giúp học sinh không quá áp lực về mặt kiến thức đồng thời nhận thức đúng đắn về các sự việc, hiện tượng tự nhiên xung quanh mình, từ đó có thái độ, hành động ứng xử đúng và phù hợp với thế giới quan và các mối quan hệ xung quanh mình. Lồng ghép giáo dục kỹ năng sống thông qua các chủ đề hóa học sẽ giúp nâng cao năng lực của người học, tạo ra những con người có đủ phẩm chất và năng lực để giải quyết vấn đề của thực tiễn cuộc sống. Với mong muốn giúp cho học sinh của mình tự tin hơn trong giao tiếp, sống có trách nhiệm với bản thân, gia đình và bạn bè, có tư duy hoàn thiện để hòa nhập với môi trường, suy nghĩ tích cực, thì hoạt động này là vô cùng cần thiết, giúp cho quá trình dạy và học môn hóa học trở nên có ý nghĩa và bớt áp lực hơn, đồng thời giúp các em có những nhận thức đúng đắn về những sự việc, hiện tượng xung quanh chúng ta, có cách cư xử chuẩn mực hơn.
