Periodic health examination (PHE) for staff, public employees, and workers is an essential healthcare activity that reflects the principle of “prevention is better than cure” and contributes to protecting the workforce in higher education institutions. This study aimed to: (1) evaluate participation rates and trends in health classification during the 2023-2026 period; (2) identify common health conditions associated with occupational characteristics; and (3) identify current limitations and propose improvement solutions. The study employed a retrospective cross-sectional design, using secondary data collected from PHE records of 183-230 staff members over four consecutive years, combined with descriptive statistics and trend analysis. The results indicated that the participation rate increased from 82.71% in 2025 to 99.45% in 2026. Health classification results in 2026 showed that grade I-II accounted for 38.46%, grade III for 58.79%, and grade IV for 2.75%. Common health conditions included eye disorders (30.77%), dyslipidemia (15.93%), spinal disorders (15.38%), and cardiovascular diseases (7.69%). These trends are consistent with the characteristics of sedentary office-based work. The study proposed six groups of improvement measures, including digitalization of health records, strengthening post-examination counseling, and expanding disease screening services.
